Summary:
Receives members in person or over the telephone.
Receives and processes member transactions, deposits, inquiries, and withdrawals.
Provides members with information concerning the credit union and respond to specific questions concerning member accounts.
All aspects of member service.
Specific Duties:
Greet members (by name, if possible), welcome them to the credit union, and make them feel good about selecting the credit union as a place to transact their financial business.
Maintain current information on member account file.
Maintain office security by following security procedures, and be alert to possible robbery situations, and knowledgeable of appropriate actions to take during a robbery situation.
Answer phones and be able to provide service requested or refer to proper individual/department.
Obtain credit reports for new member applications.
Provide routine information concerning credit union services and policies Receive and post share deposits in person or by mail; prepares proper receipt.
Receive and post loan payments.
Properly compute interest and payoffs.
Disburse withdrawals by check or cash after proper identification of member requesting withdrawals.
Process share transfer requests.
Daily opens and closes his/her computer terminal; accounts for assigned cash and transactions and balances cash and negotiables at the end of the day.
Assists members with direct deposit and payroll deduction starts, stops and changes.
Receives and processes changes of name, address and other account information.
Looks for and pursues opportunities to cross-sell credit union services based on member needs and credit union goals.
Disburses loan advances by cash or check on line of credit loans according to approved credit limits.
Cashes checks drawn on credit union and non-credit union accounts for credit union members.
Maintains and distributes branch supplies as needed.
Initiates supply orders and follows up to insure delivery on a timely basis.
Keeps abreast of all credit union operational procedures, investment options (rates, yields, etc.
) loan portfolio (options, rates, etc.
), new services, service promotions, etc.
Set up member accounts, checking accounts, IRAs, CDs, Christmas Club and other savings programs offered by the credit union.
Open and close offices as necessary.
Keeps work area neat, clean, and professional looking.
Assists in keeping general office area neat, clean and professional looking.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements / Prerequisites Must be thoroughly familiar with credit union policies and services.
Must be accurate in handling cash and recording daily transactions.
Must have a general knowledge of the computer system and be able to operate terminals for all transactions.
Must be familiar with all credit union policies pertaining to share accounts and be able to interpret and explain credit union policies and transactions posted to member accounts.
Must be alert, neat, punctual, positively motivated and cooperative.
Ability to work independently.
Must possess a commitment to rendering the best possible service to all members and to maintaining a professional, yet friendly, atmosphere in all credit union branches and offices.
Must be bondable.
